To achieve the educational objectives of this department, the diploma policy is defined as follows:

  3. Based on an understanding of universal issues in the humanities, apply specialized knowledge gained in the chosen area of study to identify, analyze, and address challenges in the real world. To achieve the educational objectives of this department, the diploma policy is defined as follows:  

  1. Acquire the ability to collect, comprehend, and analyze information through the study of Japanese language, literature, thought, and culture. (Information Literacy) 
  2. Based on information literacy, engage with historical and contemporary issues in Japanese culture and society to develop logical and flexible thinking, as well as problem-identification and problem-solving skills. (Thinking Ability)  
  3. Develop the ability to accurately articulate one's learning outcomes in Japanese and persuasively present one's views to a broad audience. (Expressive and Communication Skills) 
  4. In the Japanese Language and Literature track, conduct independent research on Japanese language and literature based on personal academic interests and compile findings into academic research papers. (Specialization)  
  5. In the Japanese Culture track, conduct independent research on Japanese culture based on personal academic interests and compile findings into academic research papers. (Specialization)

  1. Develop a deep understanding of diverse languages and cultures through interaction and collaboration with others, with the aim of effectively receiving and conveying information. (Communication Skills) 
  2. Learn specialized knowledge and research methodologies, how to independently identify interdisciplinary issues, and how to logically analyze and synthesize information and knowledge. (Comprehensive Understanding)  
  3. Through the two core areas—Modern Society, which examines the structures of diverse human societies, and History and Philosophy, which seeks to understand their historical and ideological foundations—cultivate a multifaceted perspective and creatively design solutions to problems.   4. In the Modern Society track, gain a multifaceted understanding of contemporary societies and cultures through studies in law, psychology, cultural anthropology, international relations, and intercultural communication, and conduct independent research based on personal academic interests and by compiling findings into academic research papers.
